47

Today is my 47th birthday. My how the years go by quickly when you start having kids. This past year has been a world wind or was that just these last few months. I can't believe we are packing up our home and moving to Texas in less than two weeks. My first novel is in the process of being published. Life is not boring.

The last eight years here have been great. I will always look back on my memories here fondly. The people we leave behind are wonderful. I love you all. I expect lots of hugs before we leave. You can read my husband's blog about our move here.

I look ahead and see lots of boxes in my future and lots of driving. I love Tom and life with him is not dull. I'm getting to see the United States from coast to coast. I love you dearly and I look forward to our new adventure together.

Today, a break from all the packing and a nice dinner awaits me with my honey. I'm grateful to God for my loving husband, my children, family and friends. I'm not sure what the future holds in Texas, but I'm in His hands and that's a good place to be. If the past 47 years have taught me anything it is that God is good and He loves me.

Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

Can you hear the angels sing?

I have submitted my book to BookSurge. Now the process is almost done. The hard work is finished. It’s in their hands now. There was such relief to hit the submit button. I’ve worked on this story for ten years. For four and half years it sat in a file on my computer doing nothing. I felt a tugging from God to pick it up again and finish it. It was like starting all over. Working full time, taking care of a family, and church activity made it difficult to devote a lot of time to it. With encouragement from my family and friends, I forged ahead. Tom never gave up on me. He was my biggest cheerleader. Thanks honey for your love and support.

If that was all that happened today, it would have been amazing. But it seems like God has placed His finger on the fast forward button.

My house sold. The buyer is paying cash and they are anxious to move in. There is no loan to contend with, just an inspection. Tom and I happen to be in Texas. It has to do with his new job. We were going to take this opportunity to look around and see about housing. Since the house sold, we got a lead on an apartment. We now have a place to live. We will be moving in less than a month.

Oh my, I have so much to do.

Freaky Things That Happen

I’m not finished with my edits, but I had to take a break for this post. When I met my husband long ago, he was in a Christian band, Sonseed. He played percussion and the band had about fifteeen members. They even recorded an album called, First Fruits.

Understand that this was about thirty years ago. They were quite popular in Brooklyn and traveled on the weekends playing different churches. They hosted a coffee house called, His Place, once a month in which hundreds of people would come and listen to them play. The band had long disbanded.

That is not the freaky part.

Our son called tonight and told us that he was at work and he heard some of the guys listening to a song that sounded familiar to him. He goes to investigate and they are watching a YouTube video. He couldn’t believe they were watching a Sonseed video on YouTube.

Sonseed had gone on a Christian television program and sang one of the songs from the album. They couldn’t fit all the members of the band on stage, so only eight of about fifteen members. My hubby didn’t make the cut.

I don’t know how it ended up on YouTube, but it’s just a must share. Remember this is the early eighties.

So I hope you enjoy this freaky moment with me.
