Double Tag

I was tagged twice this week. The first one is from Kathryn. It’s the Six-Word Memoir. The rules:

1. Write your own Six-Word Memoir.

2. Post it on your blog and include a visual illustration if you want.

3. Link to the person that tagged you in your post and to the original post if possible so we can track it as it travels across the blogsphere.

4. Tag at least five more blogs with links.

5. Leave a comment on the tagged blogs with an invitation to play.

My Six-Word Memoir: Live now, love passionately, forever free

The second tag is from Laura for Six Things About Me tag. I’ve done various versions of this before so I’m not sure I can come up with anything new that’s interesting. If I repeat myself, please forgive me.

1. I only started wearing flip flops a couple of years ago because I didn’t like the feeling of strap between my toes. Now I think they are comfortable.

2. I don’t buy popcorn when I go to the movies, but make a big bowl with plenty of butter when I get home.

3. I played Desdemona from Othello in a Shakespeare contest in high school.

4. I didn’t take biology in high school because I didn’t want to dissect a frog, but I can cut up a whole chicken like a pro.

5. I can’t drive a stick.

6. You may all know this, but it’s worth repeating… I’m madly in love with Tom.

  2. Love your Six-Word Memoir.

I don't know that I could ever get used to flip flops, last time I tried I was limping with them on....not a pretty sight!

  3. I love that you're still so in love with your hubby! Sadly, you don't hear that too often these days. My hubby and I will have been married 18 years this summer and I love him more now than ever.

Flip flops... couldn't live without them!

    Blessings! Dawn

  7. Welcome to the world of flip-flop wearers!

Chicken, Frog. Whats the difference?!! Besides YUK! I hated Biology for that reason.

    Have a great weekend.

  8. I love how you love your husband! :)

I have a problem w/ high-heeled thongs. That's when it really hurts between your toes!

Theater popcorn makes me sick (if I eat too much and I generally eat too much when I'm watching a movie). There's nothing like fresh-from-the-stove popcorn made and devoured in the comfort of your own home.

It's always nice to learn more about you.

  9. Isn't that funny how we all squirm about disection but raw meat is no big deal? Maybe it's the fermeldahyde.

    Love your six words.

  11. Flip flops are part of my uniform in the Summer. Course we need sun for that. *snif*

I love how you can control yourself at the movies. I get a monster size popcorn and then complain the rest of the night b/c I'm so full. It's a very fun routine for those who hang out with me. ;)

  12. I love your list. I still get sick about the whole dissecting the frog thing. Funny and ironic story... I was SO nervous about doing this... and during the actual dissecting I went to the bathroom and noticed I got my period for the 1st time! Guess who got out of the frog dissection? I love that you can cut a whole chicken. And I don't and can't drive a stick either!!

  14. Awww, yeah; We know about you and your Tom. We also know that he loves you too! Again, Awwww!

(you guys SO deserve two Awws)

I can't drive a stick either and my flip flops are a year round shoe for me.

I could actually take the disgusting LOOK of the frog, it was the smell that was beyond me. ICK!

Happy Weekend to you, Chicken Butcher of Seattle (Seattle, right?)

    Be blessed.

  15. Hi Nadine,

Oh, flip flops. Hmmm, when I was young they were called thongs. When I was a teenager, they were called Jap-flaps. I don't think I could wear them now, how does everyone keep from getting blisters between their toes?

As for your last item, yes, it comes through loud and clear how much you love your husband. Oh, please know that you are one of the few leaders in this area. What a blessing two are! Above all else, your strong, loving marriage was the very best thing you could have done in raising your children. :)

  18. I still can't do flip-flops. Working at the univesity, it amazes me how many varieties of flip flops there are in this world!

  19. HI Nadine,

  20. your love for your husband inspires us all Nadine;)

I never order popcorn at the movies either and yet have it within a day or 2 of going to one as it does linger on my mind;)

I too never disected a frog, lab partner did that;) I always wanted to be able to cut up a chicken, it always fascinated me to see it done!

  21. I happen to believe that every woman should be able to drive a stick...!! Maybe we'll have to go out driving some time!

(But your Haitian cooking definitely makes up for any lost time learning how to drive a stick, so really - it's fine - just keep frying those plantains!!)

    ;)

  24. Those were great six new things I didnt' know about you. I didnt want to disect, either. But, I dont like to cut whole chickens ...

  25. Great ones! I still haven't found a pair of flip flops that I can wear.

When it comes to dissection, I'm the opposite. I had to dissect a fetal pig in highschool because no one else in our group (ahem, I was the only girl, but I have a really hard time with raw chicken.

  26. Love your memoir.
I especially like the last of your 6 things. None of the rest would be worth enjoying if you didn't have the last.
