Words have power whether they are spoken or written. I’ve written about this before here.
There are times I just love being with Tom and no words need to be spoken. There is comfort in being with each other because we know each other so well. He can give me a look and I know what he is thinking. With a simple touch of his hand, he can speak volumes to me.
I’m a big fan of the written word. I love to read and I love to write. With that being said, yesterday I posted just a video. No words, just background music. Without a spoken or written word across the screen it evoked many emotions. By some of the comments people were moved to tears. Sometimes words aren’t necessary.
In my prayer times, I’ve spent a good amount of time just being in God’s presence. No words spoken just silence. There is peace. There is a time for words and a time for silence. I’ve come to appreciate all these times.

Sometimes it is best to be silent...Sometimes no words means many! Beautiful thought provoking post!
Sometimes the expression, gesture or body language can speak louder than words. Your last post also brought me to tears, thankful, happy ones.
You are so right Nadine, how we communicate and articulate means so much and most importantly the sincerity that we exude too :D
Amen to that, Nadine. Just yesterday God answered my prayer even though I never express my concern (more fear) to Him in prayer, but He knew my heart :)
I agree, silence can be both passionate and intimate... with you or with the Lord.
I love you,
Tom
Very true Nadine. Nice post!
Great post. I have learned in nearly 20 years of marriage that somedays it is best to remain silent.
So true!! Great post!
Sometimes it is better to just BE without words, than to speak and say the wrong thing. I personally have to remember that!

Very true, there are times when we just need to be in the moment. Sometimes words can get in the way, but sometimes they are everything.
I just watched the video and read your post today. The video did have me in tears.
Thank you for sharing
so true... He created the world with words so they have to be powerful!!
The video was awesome. I was so glad to see that happening.
Today's post was also powerful.
words r so powerful...words hv the power to heal as much as they hv the power to hurt.
Keshi.
I had a few things to say about words, too. Just a few. :)
very true, sometimes we probably say more than we should.
Words are so powerful, but yet silence can be even more so! Thanks for sharing. Blessings, Alene
I know what you mean. Sometimes I don't think specific words when I'm praying, but I know God listens to my non-language thoughts, if that makes any sense....
I have a big sign in my classroom "communication". There are so many ways to do it.
Amen.
Susan
Have a wonderful weekend Nadine :D
You are so right...truly sometimes LESS is MORE.

Yes I agree there is a time for words or not. (the answer to the "what is it" post was up yesterday, did you see it?)
Speaking of words...thanks, Nadine, for your encouraging ones.
My husband and I are like that. We don't have to always be talking to each other, but are just comfortable with each other.
Have a Great Sunday.
Brenda:)
So well said Nadine. So well said. I just love reading your blogs... I just think you are such a beautiful writer. Thank you for that!
Best,
Audrey
It's all about relationship, so if it's communicating the message I guess it could be a look, a word, some music, a poem, a painting or a sunset...
Nice thoughts!
I never knew how important it is to somewhat be silent, until I had kids :-) Sometimes I long for peace and quiet.
Just a side note- if we don't experience silence/quiet moments, then how are we possibly listening to what God might want to speak to us?
So true about just being in God's presence!
Oh You have no idea how timely your post is for me to see today....thank you sooooo much for posting it. It was an answere to my question.
I'm loving silence more and more. It is peaceful and soothing. Never thought I'd say that - LOL.
great post Nadine!
