The mind, is like a dictator, it can be very powerful and take over the rest of the body. I’ve heard it said what you focus on becomes your reality. How true. In my case it also makes acid reflux have a party in your stomach.
It’s time for the sleepless nights to end. It’s time for my mind to go on a vacation and let the rest of me recoup. So, I’m sending my mind on a vacation. In case you are wondering, I’m sending my mind to my happy place . . . Tuscany. I’m telling this for those of you who know me especially well. If I say things that seem to make little sense, realize the mind is gone . . . smile, pat me on my back, give me a hug and go off on your merry way.
It will be a short vacation, but a well needed one. It started last night. I’m feeling more refresh already. This is a happy trend I hope to continue.
I find that even good things can occupy the mind to distraction. Staying focus on the task at hand and looking at the bigger picture is the best way to let that mind relax.
If you find yourself sleepless, remember to send your mind on a vacation. Maybe we can meet up in Tuscany.

I love Italian food!

great insight! my mind could use a vacation. Do you have space for me in your Italian villa? haha, love you always :0)
Enjoy your vacation! I hope you can get that needed sleep.
gave a great trip! your top pic reminds me a place where I used to live in Eastern Canada! :)
Maybe Wade will let you drive his combine....that should help!
I am a sleep deprived overworked waif please take me on your holiday! The mind can take you anywhere, Tuscany is good!
Is the villa on a beach? That would be best for me.
Going to pack now...
I have been painting Tuscan pictures these days...my mind is already on vacation :}
My mind goes on vacation - but without my permission and without a destination! But I, too, have had lousy sleep this week. Could it be the numerous days in a row of record-breaking heat here on the Front Range of Colorado??
We love Tuscany so will meet you one night in an old Tuscan villa, with the moon up, a warm breeze and the sound of crickets in the garden. Somewhere the croak of a frog - oh wondeful!

I'd love to meet you there. And for the record, I can't remember the last time I got more than 3 hours of sleep without interruption. I probably average about 6 per night. I slept until 8:30 this morning - nearly unheard of in this house of children.
what a beautiful idea. I will meet you there!!
Hm...My number one country to see some day is Italy, I think I'll join you there.
I would love to meet up in Tuscany!
Have a good trip - Kellan
Yes you deserved a vacation alright and I wish I can do likewise and follow you on a vacation.
But if I can't join you, can I come by to visit you someday?? :D
LOL, great plan, meet you there!
I dont know about other ppl.. but I need my beauty sleep AT LEAST 6 hours daily... or else I'll become cranky.. hahaha...
tuscany? have fun and sleep tight okay!!
I think we all so need to take a mind vacation sometimes...I've gone back to Hawaii (reliving our first time there, not the second...) many times!
Have a nice relaxing week, Nadine!
This post reminds me of James Taylor's "Carolina."
nice picture. have a good vacation! :)
Tuscany sounds fantastic! Italian boys calling us bella and serving us red wine at an outdoor cafe sounds like a good way to relax the mind, no? ;)
I'm with ya sista!
God bless!
Brenda :)
I'll meet you there baby! I'll even show you around!!
Love you...rest well, my friend!
Maddie
I was thinking you could venture a little further south and visit us in Catanzaro ... I know a great B&B!
Oh ya, I've been there. Thanks to hormones! LOL. Enjoy your vacation. ha.
Oh, I love my sleep.....a mere four or five hours is not enough for me...I would be a wreck. I have heard that Martha Stewart needs very little sleep...I imagine she is dreaming up craft ideas and recipes even while asleep!
"Summer's Lease" is a very good miniseries set and filmed in Tuscany. Made many years ago, by the Brits.
Nadine, my grandmother used to say this to me and I had forgotten until I read your post. I would complain about not being able to fall asleep (always had that problem) and she would tell me to imagine a place that I would like to be and then "go" there.
Thank you for the precious memory.
Did you enjoy your trip? :)
Jen
Sounds fun. Report back soon, all about it.
Susan
You are so funny!
My body has gotten used to less sleep. It's a good thing. The bad thing is now sometimes I can't sleep when I really need/want to.
Have fun in Tuscany! ;)
i love your hubs comment. you two make me giggle. so sweet to one another.
with imagery like that who wouldn't wander over to tuscany. dreamy indeed.
get that needed sleep.
I look forward to be well rested enough to have some sleepless nights :)
