I’m not finished with my edits, but I had to take a break for this post. When I met my husband long ago, he was in a Christian band, Sonseed. He played percussion and the band had about fifteeen members. They even recorded an album called, First Fruits.
Understand that this was about thirty years ago. They were quite popular in
That is not the freaky part.
Our son called tonight and told us that he was at work and he heard some of the guys listening to a song that sounded familiar to him. He goes to investigate and they are watching a YouTube video. He couldn’t believe they were watching a Sonseed video on YouTube.
Sonseed had gone on a Christian television program and sang one of the songs from the album. They couldn’t fit all the members of the band on stage, so only eight of about fifteen members. My hubby didn’t make the cut.
I don’t know how it ended up on YouTube, but it’s just a must share. Remember this is the early eighties.
So I hope you enjoy this freaky moment with me.

alas, I didn't make it on TV that day but I remember the song and all those wonderful people fondly. Where has the time gone... wow.
How cool is that! It's amazing the things you can find on youtube!
Very cool - aren't they cute!!
Hope you had a good weekend - take care - Kellan
Well Tom... I was laughing through the entire thing. Sometimes I look back and at the 80's and I get a shiver down my spine.
*that* is cute! For the first half of the video I thought the drums made it on set but no drummer, but then finally the drummer showed up in the shot at the end. Too cute!
Hey Nadine -
Thanks to you & Tom for the kind words on my blog. It's great that so many people get a kick out of "Sonseed" and "Jesus is a Friend of Mine". Like I've said on my blog - I've had it on tape for over 25 years and have shown it to hundreds of people. It never fails to make people smile. It's good to know that all kinds of people have a sense of humor. :)

where was Tom?
why didn't he make the cut?
was he to the left of the keyboard or right of the drums???
my fav. part of the song was: ZAP!
I laughed out loud at that...
He WILL zap you any way He can!
haha
I loved it!
thanks for the great lullaby...going to sleep now. g'night
That was too fun. I don't know whether to miss the 80's or just be glad we've moved on, right?
My hubby is a drummer, too, so I've had my share in being a roady, sound tech, etc. Thankfully, he only plays with the worship band at church now.
Blessings!
Too Good.
Thanks !
I listen it 5-6 times...
Wonderful.
:)
This video and my morning espresso have me climbing the walls. LOL
How funny and fun! I can't believe you can find just about anything on You Tube these days.
Btw, I'm glad to see you're back!
It could be a kids Christian Song even today! I would take SonSeed over the Wiggles any day of the week!
How cool that Tom has this as a part of his Christian journey!

We remember the good old days, 70's-80's and were in a christian band too...I think it was good that God moved Tom on,( lol )! Times have sure changed but the message hasn't...Jesus is a friend of mine!

too cool to finding that on YouTube, who would have thought that would have happened 30 years ago!
What fun to find something come to the surface from the past. Bet your hubby was proud to have been part of it all.
I've been wondering how your book is coming along. I am still working on mine but had to set it down again for alot of the summer since we have been so busy. I will hopefully have it ready for other eyes to start hacking at it in earnest this winter.
