Last Saturday when we were in New York we had a busy day. The church (pictured above) was having a luncheon at noon for us. A meet and greet. About fifty or so members were able to attend. We had a delightful time meeting everyone. It seems every time I talk about our visit, I mention food. Then everyone gets hungry as they read – I’ll skip the food part to spare all of you the glorious yummy details.
After we ate, we had a questions and answers session. I took pictures from the front (see below) of each side of the church. I told them if they asked hard questions, I would point them out on my blog. I have to say, they were all very, very nice. I’ve never felt more welcomed. I’m looking forward to getting to know all of them better.
That evening we went to Tom’s dad’s house to catch up with family. You can ask Tom, it takes a lot to embarrass me. After we said our hellos and gave hugs, three family members handed me my book to sign. They have not been the first ones to ask, but I always find that funny when someone wants me to autograph my book. Part of me was embarrassed and the other part was honored. I could tell they were proud of me.
We had a nice time visiting with family. Not all the siblings were able to be there, but we’ll have time to visit with them soon enough.
On Sunday we got to meet more people from the church. Tom preached, mainly describing who we are and where we came from. Rick and Kari (the former pastors) prayed for us and passed the baton. It was good.
We had such a nice visit. Tom and I are excited about this next phase of our lives. We are going home. I never thought we would live in New York again, but something feels so right about it.
We were praying that our flight would not be cancelled. New York was expecting a snow storm. The prayers worked and we took off without any problems. The snow did fall – they received a foot of it. Ah, the snow. I’m not a big fan of snow – I don’t like to drive in it. I guess I’ll just have to get use to it again.
Thank you for reliving my trip. I have a busy week next week and company coming. I don’t know how much time I’ll have to blog. Until next time – have a great week.

Happy for you and eager to see all that God has in store for you. Do you have family there, too?
Susan
Thank you for sharing your trip with all of your readers. I actually started feeling excited for you while reading your posts!
Hope you enjoy your company this coming week. Don't stress... just enjoy!
Blessings!
I can't imagine how good it must feel to sort of be back full cicle. Based on the few I have known, it seems that "once a New Yorker, always a New Yorker."
When do you move? Do you have to buy a house, or are they the old fshioned kind of church with a parsonage?
Dawn - the other one!
I've been to NY once and I fell in love!!! So did my brother, in fact he's back on the East Coast now and loves it. So glad you had a wonderful trip my friend!
Loved hearing about your trip and so excited for you and Tom as you prepare to move back to NY!
I'm so glad you shared! Sounded like such a wonderful time. And the best part--going HOME.
Enjoy your week and I hope you and Tom are blessed as you visit with your company!
I know why you have a good feeling about NY...because it's such a part of you. You and NY go together...and I'm happy that you made it back safe and sound and that you feel good about the move.
Not only do I miss my NY friends, I miss the seasons, especially winter. I never minded driving in the snow.
Wow so exciting!!!
Thanks for sharing your trip with us. It sounds like everything is falling into place. How nice to be able to live by family again.
After these last 6 months in Texas without family I bet the thought of being surrounded by family again just warms your heart! I'm thrilled for both of you and know you would not be making this move if you didn't feel it was God's will. Best of luck!
Although I think the snow is beautiful, I'd be afraid to drive in it. I never have as I've always lived in sunny CA.
This seems like an awesome place for you guys to be right now. I can't wait to hear about your new life in New York and the new church.
PS I can imagine how proud everyone is of you for the book your wrote. Not only is it an amazing book, but is an amazing Christian oriented book. This is a great market to be a part of. I am almost finished and I am trying to go as slow as possible since I will hate to see the book end. I have grown very fond of Regina not to mention a few other characters.
I feel your excitement! It must be so nice knowing you are going to be home.
But Nadine Honey, you are moving AGAIN. ACK! I am praying for God to make it such an easy transition that you will see His hand all over it!
Glad you had a good visit.
That sounds so exciting!
Happy for you both and this exciting journey God has you on :)
Blessings!!
Looks cold! I hope everything goes great for you and Tom.
I am glad that all turns out well, now you must update me on your new address ;)
Note to self: Don't forget the correct postal code now hehehe..
Great update...so happy for you guys, nothing like going home or should I say, going "Full Circle". How exiting.. I remember my NY days, loved the Fall seasons there, so gorgeous!
Your in our prayers---

The south will miss you (as a Louisianian, we were practically neighbors), but it's nice to go home.
Glad to hear everything went well.
Well, it sounds like everything is in place. I am happy for you guys...it looks like a great group...possible even #2 on your favorite congregations!!!
You are a blessing and I miss you terribly! Thanks for signing my book I have begun to pass it around to get others ready for the next one. So when will the next one be available?
I've enjoyed your stories about NY. I've never been there...but hope to one day. How exciting to get to live in so many different places. I've never lived further than an hour from where I was born.
