The Blind Side

The blind side is a football term that means the side opposite the direction a player is facing. An example would be when a right-handed quarterback sets up for a pass; the left tackle is responsible for protecting his blind side.

The Blind Side is also a movie, based on the life of Michael Oher. Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy take him into their home and into their hearts. I wanted to see this movie because I love Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw. The story line and the previews appealed to me. I also love true to life stories.

The Tuohy’s have two children of their own when they bought Michael into their home. It’s a story about mutual loving relationships that stirred my heart. I have to admit that many parts of this movie bought tears to my eyes. I love when a story moves me in some way. I love to read a book or see a movie that shows ordinary people doing selfless acts that change lives.

When you see this movie, you’ll understand what “the blind side” really means. It’s more than just a football term.

Below is the trailer from the movie.

I broke my "I don't go to movies" life rule to see this one and I'm so glad I did. It is an amazing story and is a great movie. Sandra Bullock is such a good actress, but I'd never seen Tim McGraw in anything before. We went for our anniversary evening and it was a real treat.

We don't do movies often, too busy and too costly. But thanks for this info and we just might try and see this one!

We absolutely loved this movie, and want our 11 year old, who normally only watches kids stuff, to see it.

LOL...how funny I used the same photo when I did my review on this movie. Wasn't it wonderful??

Did you see "20/20" a couple weeks ago when they interviewed the real family and the guy? Sooo good!

Stay warm up there!!!

I had no idea what this movie was about, but I must say, it looks good. Nice to see Sandra Bullock play someone close to her age for a change ;-)

Dawn - I was grateful for "free tickets." It was well spent on this movie.

KarenW - You'll love it.

Linda - I totally agree.

Sandy - Happy New Year to you too.

Tina - I think you will like it.

Susan - We have been blessed to get "free tickets" from friends and so I've been blessed to see more movies than usual. This one I would have paid for.

Laurel - I think he will be inspired.

Knitting Mania - I saw a YouTube interview with the real family that I posted on Facebook. It was very good. Good people.

Cheri - I cried too and more than once.

Chelle - It was a great date night with the hubby. When my kids were small like yours - we rented movies and popped popcorn and watched after the kiddies went to bed. Date night at home (we still do that even though the kids are out of the house).

Demera - I think you will enjoy it.

Tinsie - Sandra did a great job in this role.

This is a movie the boys (my husband and son) and I really want to see. I saw a special on TV about it, including an interview with Sandra Bullock, and it almost brought me to tears. Thanks for the review, we hope to see it soon (and drag my daughter along!). :)

I saw this movie and just loved it. I absolutely had to see it. What a great movie it was. Even my 19 year old daughter who doesn't like football couldn't stop talking about this movie. What an awesome true story.

We went to see this movie right after Alabama beat Florida in the SEC Championship game (had to watch Saban act). I laughed and cried all the way through the movie. It was one of the best EVER.

Happy New Year Nadine!
