She just finished Chapter eight and we are approaching the half way mark. So how has it been? It’s been really good. She has opinions and instead of telling me, she asks questions. She’s made some great suggestions and I’m happy with the changes. She’s smart and knows what she is doing.
The best part has been her encouraging words. She’ll send an email with a chapter attached and say a few encouraging words like; my story is exciting or she’s enjoying reading it. It makes me feel better knowing that she not just doing a job, but really reading the story and engaging in it.
Everyone can use encouragement. We learned this when we do our outreaches. If you’re new to my blog you can read about our Boat Race outreach here or the one we did at the fair here.
I’m excited about this process. I’ve learned more from my mistakes than any English class I’ve taken. Have I mentioned before, that English was my worst subject in school? Isn’t that funny that God would lead me to write a book? I’m sure to give updates as I pursue this endeavor.

Nadine, what you are doing is inspirational. I am glad that you are open to Lauren's suggestions and that the process is going smoothly. Be blessed, Jen
Continued good luck on this project. I can't wait 'til it's published so I can tell everyone that I know a real live author! :)
I am so inspired by you and your work Nadine!
Keep up the great work!
I'm excited and happy for you Nadine. What an accomplishment!!!

Thanks for stopping by! The party is really quite fun.
Congrats on writing your book. That must be so exciting. I will keep up with you so I know how it all turns out.
Hope you have a good day!
This is so cool! You are such an inspiration to me!
I am so happy the editing process is going along so nicely! I love hearing about how your writing dreams are coming true! So, so wonderful to read, Nadine!

That's so awesome, I'm glad you're enjoying the process. The NEXT BOOK will be a breeze!
;)
I am glad that you are blessed with a kind and savvy editor. That is a God thing for sure! I think that would be a fun job - since English was my strongest subject!
Good luck with the editing. I know how daunting it can be. All the best to you!
I've always listed "book editor" as one of my "dream jobs" though honestly I'm not sure exactly what book editing involves. (go figure). Do keep us posted on the editing journey - can't wait!
This is wonderful process Nadine and very enriching too...so glad you shared your thoughts with us :D
That is great you're so excited about the process. I have to say I was never thrilled about the editorial process, probably because I was so tied to my words and hated someone constructively ripping them apart!
What a blessing to have found Lauren!
She must be an angel in disguise...to offer critical critiquing in the form of encouragement is a spiritual gift I tell you!
Bless you as you continue towards publication.
And what a great reference.....I better get writing a book so Lauren can edit it!
Diane
That's awesome that you've found someone you can trust and who encourages. We all need that. You are an inspiration, my dear!
Good for you! An excellent editor is like gold. And you deserve that.
What a blessing to have to have more than just an editor doing thier job, but geeting to know you through your writing. Blessings as you press forward in this adventure.
Hi Nadine,
How nice of you to come by and visit my blog! It is wonderful that you are working on a book ~ that is inspirational and I wish you much success!! :) We are kindred spirits in that I am an avid reader, too!
Smiles...Bebe :)
Hi Nadine - I never considered English one of my favorite subjects either, and here I am writing a blog, and I love it!
Love how God works ...
Keep going, girl!
Who is this Lauren? Would her last initial be an S.? I am very much looking forward to reading that book of your's someday soon.
I'm so glad the editing process is going well. I'm looking forward to seeing the published work.
I'am so inspired by YOU!
Okay, I am touched. I too was not the best student in English. Actually I did well, but it was tremendously hard for me. And...like you, God has told me to write. At this point I don't know if I will write a book, but I am just writing whatever He puts on my mind. Good for you for listening to God's prompting!
Thanks for keeping us updated on the editing process. It was a fun book to read. I am glad your editor thinks so too.
Nadine - loving your blog. I'm not a writer and hated English in school. I totally understand the whole God calling you to do something unfamiliar. When I wrote "Dirty Laundry Secrets" last year - I had much to learn. The editing process was neverending it seemed. Still things I would change. Do you have any tips to share as I begin writing my second soon. I'm proud of you. I've learned writing takes a lot of self-displine. Which, by the way, is not my best suit - ha. Blessings.
Can I buy a copy now so when it hits the top 100 best sellers list I can say I bought the very first one!!!?
Encouragement goes a long way!
w00t for half way!!!
Hi Nadine,my new ultimate blog party friend. :)
Just stopping by. I am very interested in your editing stuff, as my daughter hopes to write books. We could probably learn much from you. :)
I'll be sure to stop back by! :)
It is so awesome that you have such a great editor. I think it is cool that she just doesn't make the changes, but helps you to make the changes she thinks would be good for your book.
Well - English was my worst subject in School too :) - Still not that great, but at least I am able to communicate. Now it gets hard to write anything in my native language - lol.
