The Winner Is, Secretary’s Day & Award

Item #1: I have a few short items to share today. The winner of my very first giveaway (The Shack) is Simply Scarlet. Congratulations. I hope you enjoy the book. After reading it, I can say that they were parts that made me laugh, that made me cry and that made me think. The author did at times get “preachy” with his view of church, but I’ve heard it said, eat the meat and spit out the bones. I enjoyed this book. If you have a chance to pick up a copy, it’s a worthwhile read.

Item # 2: This past week was Secretary’s Week. It was busy at work, so our office celebrated on Friday. The doctor bought lunch for us from one of the Italian restaurants in the area. I had a yummy triple cheese chicken pizza and side salad. He also gave me the card below: To the one who does it all…And makes it look so easy! I feel like Snoopy does most days spinning lots of plates. Inside was a gift certificate.

The topper was this lovely white orchid. Isn’t it pretty? Now everyone pray with me and for me that I don’t kill it.

Item #3: Brenda from It’s All Good gave me You Make My Day Award. She is new to blogging, but I would not have known that. She does a great job and I love visiting her. If you haven’t received this award before and you read my blog regularly and I comment on yours, then please accept it, place it on your blog and know that you all make my day.

Have a great weekend.

Ooo the orchid is totally beautiful. Are they fragile plants? I need to have hardy plants or they commit suicide on me!

Glad you got a little attention and gratitude for all that you do :)

That orchid is amazing! It looks fake it is so perfect!!!

Plus, that pizza sounds GREAT. I know, I know...we have pizza. But, not with chicken on top!

It sounds like your Secretary's Day was enjoyable...and that you work for a generous doctor! How nice.

I work for doctors too and they were and are great to work for...except things have changed a bit as they sold us to a big corporation at the end of last year. The docs are still there but it's not the same. No little perks anymore.

Well, after learning I'm the winner, you made my day! I'm so excited and can't wait to dig into the book. Honestly, it's one of the best book reviews I've read because afterwards I wanted to know more, but then I didn't want you to give anything away either. Soon enough I'll have my own review of the book, thanks to you.

BTW, I love the white orchid! You deserve it, along with the award. We like you, we really like you. :)

What a nice gift. And I am very sure that card is true...I'll bet you make it all look easy. I'm not a green thumb at all and I can even keep an orchid alive. Congrats on the award - very well deserved.

We had a great time eating out for Secretary's Day Thursday (now called Admin Pro Day) It was my last one - the first of many "lasts" to come.

Sounds like you had a wonderful secretary's day. As far as the orchid goes, I have one and it's not sick yet! I'm told water it once a week and that's it. Not too much, not too little.
Sweet award, and it is true, "You do make my day"!

That is a beautiful orchid. I love those, but I'd kill it in about a second. I even managed to kill a cactus once. ???? I know. Glad they celebrated you, girlie!! You deserve it! xo.

Those orchids are to die for..oops not going to kill them right? That is great that you were so appreciated. I have to remind my husband that he missed my celebration. I do believe that I am the family secretary. By the way, your picture is so beautiful. You have such nice features. Blessings and happy Sunday.

Congrats to Simply Scarlet!

My daughter works at a vet clinic and they decided to turn Secretary's day into employee appreciation day. They gave gift certificates to all the employees.
