Where’s Nadine?

I usually don’t take this long to post. I’m sure some of you have wondered why I haven’t stopped by. At least I hope I’ve been missed. I’ve been so busy working on my edits. I just finished chapter 15 out of 22. I’m really enjoying this process. Lauren, my editor, has made this experience pleasant. She asks good questions and makes suggestions that don’t make me feel like an idiot. Even when we don’t agree (which is not as often as you would think) it’s been good. She makes me smile when she comments how she likes a line or a paragraph. I’m amused by her involvement in the characters and the storyline. It shows me that she’s not just doing a job, but enjoying the story. Since I’m self publishing, she plans on going through the entire book once more to make sure nothing was missed. Now I’m waiting on chapter 16.

I’m not sure how much I will catch up on all my blog reading. I’ve missed you all so much. I am teaching on Thursday night at church and I’m working on my lesson. I will try to pop in this week when I have a free moment.

I leave you with this random thought:

You know you are loved when -

He does the things that mean something to you without making you feel like he’s doing you a favor.

I would love to hear what you all would add to the statement above. Come on share the love.

There you are!
Yes, you have been totally missed!

Since I someday want to finish writing a book and perhaps even get it published, this whole process you're going through really interests me!
And good for you for doing it!

Hmmm...it's too late at night for me to add to the closing statement, but I do like that thought!

Hi, Nadine. I'm a stranger, so I hope you don't mind me reading your blog and commenting. But the comment you made about your husband is the thing any man would yearn to hear his beloved female companion say. It is moving, and a witness about Godly marriage. As you say, I feel loved because Liz, my wife of 29 years, does things to please me without then demanding something in return. She really wants to please, and it is a great joy. I wish you well with your novel. My novel was also self-published here in Australia, ten years before a U.S. publisher took it up. It's good, because you may find when it's in print people will really like it and if no publisher took it up that only shows that they are possessed of imperfect judgement. I should get onto your two chapters and check them out. Go well. God bless.

I WAS wondering if everything was ok with you. Good to hear from again.
You know you are loved when... He casts your sins into the sea of forgetfulness! Never to be remembered again.

Hey stranger! I have been out too but it is nice to be catching up with everyone!

You know you are loved when he does the dishes and takes over with the kids after you have had a long day. Even when he himself has had a long day.

I know I'm loved, period.

However, a specific moment does come to mind...

I know I'm loved when a chemo needle is stuck in my right hand and you're holding my left.

I love you,
Tom

Welcome back! Glad you were gone for a fun reason and not just ignoring your adoring fans!!

You know you're loved when he kisses your tummy, disfigured from two emergency c-sections and a hysterectomy, and makes you feel like a swimsuit model!

I missed ya, but gone for a good cause is perfect!

Random thought: I've never had a "he", only a "He". I am always amazed at the things that have taken place that I have only internally hoped and silently wished for...indeed...I am loved deeply!

Revival: I watched the day time streams and was a little disappointed, but I won't share since others can read this. However, I've heard the evenings are just divine. Sunday night was incredible! I almost purchased airline tiks, but I thought God is certainly not beyond reaching through the laptop. Now, I couldn't say this yesterday, but I can today. I went to the doc for my A1C test (which I am expecting to be normal), and I think I've shared my issues (which are/were many), one of them was a heart murmur...I stood and prayed with them and my friend grabbed my arm and prayed with me...Doc said this morning "nothing, can't hear a thing...you're fine, not even a sign of a heart murmur." Now...on to the rest.

You know what!!!! When I was entering into your blog I noticed you listen to Rita Springer!! SWEET! I just purchased every one of her cd's last week...someone opened my mail before I got 'em and took a couple...so I'm praying they get more than music...lol.

Sorry so long, but you don't have an email connection. ;)

I thought you might be a little busy, but I'm glad it's a good kind of busy. :)

Good for you working away on that book! I can't wait to hear more about it.

"You know you are loved when..." you act like a complete idiot and he acts like he doesn't notice.

Hi Nadine, nice to see you back. It's totally understandable, with you being so busy, that you can't post as often as you might like.

You are well rememberd, even when you are away for a while...:)

By the way, what a beautiful comment your dear husband made. And you know....the Lord had His arms around you both...

Lucky you.....and I hope all is well now, health-wise.

You know you are loved when you are distraught over something, and God just moves you on to something else, and, what you're distraught about doesn't even seem to matter to Him.

There you are! Wonderful comment!!

Oh there you are. Hello Friend!!

Love hearing about the progress on your book. I can't wait to buy a copy. Can I get it autographed please? REALLY looking forward to hearing about the next steps in your publishing process.

You know you are loved when....

~he slaps you on the rump and does not comment on the plump.

~he looks at you, smiles and shakes his head. When you say "what?" he says, "nothing, it's just you."

~he tells your son to find a woman to love like he found.

~he says "You make me happy." Same smile, same little head shake.

Definatley missed!! I am enjoying your book process. Lots of work I am sure. To add to your closing...

You that you are loved when you are hugged and kissed every single day regardless of any kind of events in every day life.

No kidding, my husband will give me a hug and a kiss in the am and pm as if he has be gone for a week. I love that man.

I am glad to hear you have been so productive and that book is getting closer to my bookshelf!

I can't add to that statement, either, but I do agree with it 100%. In fact, I thought about that just last night, when I was working late, and sooo tired, and I went upstairs and P had dinner almost done! Ain't he a keeper, Nadine?

Blessings to you as you continue to edit....and BTW--I've been thanking God for your husband's great health report!!!!!!!

I have been under the weather and not visiting or writing either....but I'm glad you've been away for a much better reason!

I would say you know you are loved when you husband says, "I waited to do the laundry so you could have lots of hot water for a bath."

Glad to hear you are working hard on your book! That is so much more important than blogging if I say so myself!

Nothing comes to mind about finishing your love phrase, but I like what you had to say.

Thanks for the update. I logged on today to ask how it was going and there was my answer. Great post. Surely has my thinking.

I'm so glad to hear that there is a very good reason for your absence in blogland!

You know you are loved when he buys you an HD t.v. for your letter study before he buys himself one! Because he thinks you deserve it. What a sweetie!

Oops - I need an editor! Make that "little" study, not "letter!"
