A Little Ray

I want to thank everyone for their expressions of love, encouragement and prayers. I want you all to know that it is appreciated. Life has been tough lately with the news of cancer returning. The first time around the fear of the unknown made life uncertain. Now we know what to expect with the chemo treatments and life isn’t any easier.

I know how much we are loved. I can feel the prayer support, but I still feel unsettled. A week ago my biggest aggravation was the publishers of my book not delivering the timelines they originally told me. Today, I’m finding it hard to even care about it. Tom on the other hand asked me to call and find out what the status was. So I called and they mailed my book and it was delivered on Tuesday to Washington. I had told them I moved, but somehow that information wasn’t placed in my file. It will get here eventually and that’s what matters. Tom still wants me to do all that I planned regarding the release. He’s excited for the both of us. My next post will be about the giveaway.

Life is nuts but in the midst of craziness sometimes a little ray of sunshine enters. In the mail came a couple of packages from dear friends. Inside one was a portable DVD player. The other had the first season of First Edition. They sent that to us so Tom would have something to watch during chemo. When I saw what it was I cried. I cried because of the love expressed in their thoughtfulness. From across the miles they reached out and blessed us beyond measure. Thank you so very much for your kindness Ty and Jen.

I will come around and visit you all again. Thank you again for your expressions of love and support.

Blessings,
Nadine

It's good to see you posting again and sounding positive. I know your book will get to you in due time and that all will go well with Tom. You know we continue to pray for both of you and God hears our prayers.

It's sweet to receive such thoughtful gifts in the mail from friends. I know they made you cry, but I hope they made Tom smile. :)

Take care.

PS - I'm still working on your portrait. Who knows, you may get your book and portrait on the same day. ;)

Nadine, the gift that Ty and Jen sent was so thoughtful. I never would have thought of that and yet it makes so much sense.

Let Tom support you and be excited about your book. I think it means so much to him and he is obviously so proud of you.

You and Tom are in my prayers. I can imagine that facing chemo with the full knowledge of what it is like must be tough. Hold tight to each other and weather this storm as well.

I will continue to pray and add you children to my prayers too.

What a ray of sunshine your friends are... what a truly thoughtful gift. The prayers are all around you and Tom and your family, and that faith is such a powerful force. I have been thinking of your book, too... and I think it must give Tom such a sense of purpose to help keep you focused on such an important past of your life... your writing. In this way, Tom is able to help you as you comfort him at this difficult time.

I am praying every day...

We will continue to pray for Tom. Peter's step-father started his radiation treatments yesterday, and the doctors are very pleased with how he is progressing. He will have radiation treatments every for the next 30 days (excluding Christmas).

I'm continuing to pray also and am thinking of you and Tom. I pray for healing for him and I pray for you to remain strong so you can get through this together.

At least you had some good news about the book. I can't wait for it. I hope this gives you a little lift although I know it must be hard.
