Google Me This

Google is an unbelievable tool. I have many different blog posts that come up when people are searching for something. Two of my most popular posts are; The Ankle Bracelet and Griot (Haitian Pork Shoulder). The names you use for your posts carry a lot of weight. I still get comments on the Ankle Bracelet post from women who grew up in New York City and remember the tradition.

When the people at our church found out Tom and I would be the new pastors they “Googled” us. I don’t know if it’s funnier that they “Googled” us or that they found things when they did. I’m grateful they only found good things like our Facebook accounts and our blogs.

What happens when you Google your name?

When you Google both my married name and my maiden name, the search turns up writers. PUBLISHED writers. So maybe something about that name means that we are a wordy people :) Makes me a smidge jealous though that I am merely the blogging Jennifer.

I think the searches on my blog are hilarious (well, most of them) and love doing the posts about Statcounter.

Well, Jen maybe there is something about that you should look into. I find your blog so refreshing and quite funny. You can become the writer Jennifer too... :)

When I google myself a bunch of articles and reviews I have written come up.

Makes me feel proud.

Thanks. I needed that.

Bex - I know how weird is it to google yourself and find stuff.

Amydeanne - interesting is relative I believe. I don't think mine is interesting but it's funny that there is stuff out there.

Jillian - I'm grateful that I'm boring and there isn't much.

Chelle - How cool is that to have your articles come up.

My name came up many times, but none of them are me. Some very interesting sounding people.

Funny that you mention this today of all days. My daughter Googled my name in her computer class and found my "Figure Network" drawings of a nude Daniel. Thank God I focused on his upper back!! :)

Scarlet - That's hilarious. Thank God for small favors.

Don't you just love Google? What did we ever do without it? LOL! I was surprised to see how many others share my name!

I google myself all the time to find out if there is anything out there about me, and I usually just get links to my blogs. :-)

I found a bunch of my space, twitter, and Face book. I also got a hit on a dictionary term - My name means "studdly, outstanding, wonderful, macho, man's man, and humble." Sounds like me...huh? Take care. Strider
