Through the mire of my soul I search for You
My heart longs for intimacy with You
My eyes look towards heaven for You
My spirit soars after You

You meet me where I am
You change me gently
You love me through my difficulties
You see the goodness in me

What can I do for You?
What can I say to bless You?
Where can I go on Your behalf?
How can I serve You better?

You desire relationship with me
You yearn for time alone
You pursue me with Your love
You pull me deeper into You

Thank You for never giving up
Thank You for holding me close
Thank You for drying my tears
Thank You for placing hope in my heart

Longings

The last time I wrote a poem it was during lunch. It came to me within minutes. Click here. I’m not a poet, but I love poems. My desire to know God better inspired this. It’s called Longings.


My heart longs for You
My spirit craves intimacy with You
My desire is to know You better

The shadows of life engulf me
The limits of time constrain me
The laziness of my soul refrain me

Who else knows me better?
Who else loves me like You do?
Who else can I trust with my deepest fears?

The longing I feel
The longing that drives me
Is placed inside of my heart by the One who longs after me

Inspiration and Creativity

I’ve come to realize that inspiration and creativity go together. You never know when inspiration will come. Sometimes it happens when you least expect it. Today during my lunch time I was thinking about hope and what it means to me. My name means hope and lately I find myself desperately trying to hold on to it. Nothing can cause a person to deflate in their spirit more then when they have no hope. Hope is powerful and you don’t realize how much until you don’t have it. So here is a little poem that I was inspired to write during my lunch time.

Hope springs eternal
Hope sings a new song
Hope delivers light into darkness
Hope never disappoints

Hope is a new beginning
Hope is a new day
Hope lives in our hearts
Hope never strays

Hope comes in an instant
Hope sets the captive free
Hope never takes
Hope always gives
